Lake Chelan

We had a lovely time hanging in Chelan with the Keegans and Merce Gay's. The highlight by far was the day it was sunny, 80 degrees and we rented a power boat! If only I remembered to bring my camera, but I know the Keegans have some unforgettable shots. Please share, Jules!

Another great time was heading to the State Park for playground fun, BBQ, cake and lots of playing! We will never forget our girl, Anya, taking off for the playground equipment unbeknowst to me and making it all the way to the top all by herself. My heart sank when I saw her, but she was fine and VERY proud of her big girl playground skills. She is on her way!

Seward Park

One of our favorite parks in the city is close to our old home. It's serene, quiet and truly a retreat from the hustle and bustle. If only it was a hop, skip 'n a jump from our Fremont home!

Happy 13 Months!

This photo was taken on Anya's 13 month birthday while we were playing. She is becoming quite the busy girl these days. She's crawling everywhere and even will climb the narrow stairs to our TV area. I can't let her out of my sight!

One Year Check-Up

Here are baby girl's stats after 12 months in the world.

Height/Length: 31" (95%)
Weight: 21 lbs. 4.5 oz. (50%)
Head Circumference: 47.5 cm (95%)

We're surprised with her weight as she feels much bigger for her age. She is growing up beautifully and the only area we feel challenged is her recent waking up in the middle of the night. For the first 12 months of her life, she was sleeping so well we would keep our mouths shut when other new parents were complaining. Parenthood is always full of surprises, so we know it was too good to last forever.

They say night terrors kick in around this age, so we have her dialed in with a lady bug nightlight, I-pod with Disney lullabies and new Turtle Constellation Light courtesy of the Keegans. It's so cool I want to sleep in her room when its on and look up at the galaxy. Comes in three colors, too, depending on their mood. We're hopeful and confident it's a stage and will quickly pass. Please, we hope. Sleep is golden!

My First Boat Ride-Deception Pass Tour

Gramma reluctantly gets on and questions her granddaughter being a part of this at the early age of one. It was pouring rain not even an hour ago.

Anya is on her toes with excitement and anticipation for this water adventure.

Look, Papa, I'm a big girl!

Boat picks up speed and baby girl is really having fun! Papa surely is, too.

Daddy sense kicks in and blocks the wind from her, but can't stop the boat from crashing down on BIG waves.

Anya no longer sure this is fun, looking at mommy thinking, 'did you sign me up for this?' Papa, nevertheless, is continuing to have a blast. Daddy is not.

Daddy giving mommy "the look" and sides with Gramma on this one.
